A Lesson in History: Chiropractic, Osteopathy & Homoeopathy –

The Chance for A New Paradigm of Healing

This week I would like to talk about health and history.

There is the old adage that the one thing about history is that if we don’t learn from our history we are forced to repeat it.

If we take a look at the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic and the death rates something really interesting emerges – something so significant that NO mainstream media outlet, NO social media platform would want you to know…

However, it is real data and can easily be verified:

1918 ‘Flu Patients: Mortality Rate under Allopathic Care

What was the mortality rate from the 1918 ‘Flu in US military hospitals? 36%!

What was the mortality rate in US medical hospitals? 30%-40%!

However, the mortality rate in medical hospitals in New York City gives us pause for thought: a death rate of 68% was reported.

Mortality Rate under Osteopathic Care

Up until the early 1920s, the title MD (medical doctor) covered most chiropractors, osteopaths, and homeopaths, along with allopathically trained doctors, and it was commonplace for there to be chiropractic, homeopathic and osteopathic hospitals alongside the allopathic hospitals.

The mortality rate at the osteopathic hospitals during the 1918 ‘flu pandemic was a fraction of the mortality rate under allopathic medical care. For example, the 400-bed Massachusetts Osteopathic Hospital, in Boston, reported a mortality rate of 0.25%.

Mortality Rate under Chiropractic Care

Those under chiropractic care during the 1918 ‘flu pandemic were even more fortunate.

For example, in Davenport, Iowa, allopathic MDs reported losing one patient out of every 15 (6,116 deaths from 93,590 patients – .65%) while Chiropractors at the Palmer School of Chiropractic (Davenport, Iowa) reported 1,635 cases of the flu with just one death (.006%).

Across the state of Iowa, Chiropractic doctors reported 6 deaths out of 4,735 cases (.013%).

Rhodes WR. The Official History of Chiropractic in Texas. Austin, TX: Texas Chiropractic Association. 1978.

As a note, the osteopathic and chiropractic approaches recognized fever as the body’s response to an infection and so did not attempt to reduce the fever. Also, both DOs and DCs practiced spinal and manipulative care throughout the patient’s stay in the hospital, in order to support the body’s systems.

Mortality Rate under Homeopathic Care

In the same way as osteopaths and chiropractors, homeopaths also do not attempt to suppress fever or other symptoms. As a result, according to W.A. Dewey, MD homeopathic physicians in Philadelphia reported a mortality rate of 1% for their 26,000 1918 flu patients.

Winston J. Influenza-1918: homeopathy to the rescue. The New England Journal of Homeopathy. Spring/Summer 1998;7(1):111-115.

Reports from homeopaths regarding death numbers from the 1918 ‘flu pandemic bear out these low mortality rates, as shown below.

“In a plant of 8,000 workers we had only one death. The patients were not drugged to death. Gelsemium was practically the only remedy used. We used no aspirin and no vaccines.”
Frank Wieland, MD

“I did not lose a single case of influenza; my death rate in the pneumonias was 2.1%. Aspirin and quinine were almost the sole standbys of the old school and it was a common thing to hear them speaking of losing 60% of their pneumonias.”
Dudley A. Williams, MD

The Story of a 10-year-old Delivery Boy

Julian Winston, a homeopathic historian, discusses a first-hand experience:

“In reading the accounts of the epidemic it seems that most of the deaths were caused by a virulent pneumonia that was especially devastating to those who depressed their system with analgesics – the most common being aspirin.

The Physician from whom I first learned homeopathy, Raymond Seidel, MD, HMD, said that he decided to be a homeopathic doctor during the flu epidemic when he was a 10-year-old delivery boy for a homeopath in New Jersey. He said, ‘I saw that the people who were taking aspirin were dying, about half those who were drinking a lot were dying, and those that received homeopathic remedies were living.”

Conclusion

These figures must surely give us some food for thought, particularly so as there is no one in the mainstream media or mainstream medical world who is talking about boosting our own wonderful immune system to help us fight the current Corona-Virus pandemic.

Simple things as Vitamin D, Vitamin C & Zinc supplementation can really help with this as can looking at our dietary intake, exercise, sleep, sunlight and stress reduction.

Alongside this, we can also look towards alternative therapies to help provide additional support, as their focus is not to suppress symptoms but instead to help bring balance and vitality to body and mind.

And so the key question is: Why would we not want to learn from our history, and build on the successes of homeopathic, osteopathic, and chiropractic approaches to vibrant health and vitality?

Healing is on Its Way

I have always held the optimistic view that individuals can heal almost anything, assuming they are committed and given the right support.

My feeling is that at the moment the planet and humanity as a whole are going through a time of great healing, an upgrade process if you like.

More and more people are opening to their own power and those who are sensitive to energies are saying that the planet is moving to a higher vibration.

Certainly, that is my feeling too, and I believe it will give all of us a great opportunity to experience a more vibrant and healthy existence on this planet.

Sadly, as a species it would appear that we have gone off track and are now being pulled back to our highest potential – a potential that involves living in great health and in a balanced and clean environment, with a wonderful future and handing a beautiful planet on to our children and their children to come.

The way I see it is that there is an opening that we have been waiting for, and now that we stand on the threshold there is no turning back.

As some of you may know, my passion is sailing, and to me life is like sailing – sometimes it is easy and smooth then suddenly from nowhere it is stormy and rough…

However sailing boats are not made to stay in the harbour, so once we set sail we have to take what nature gives us and adjust our sails or direction as appropriate.

Having sailed through a stormy time, however, and come safely out the other side, we feel a sense of great relief and can truly enjoy and appreciate the calmer times even more.

Fact and Fiction 2020

This week I would like to cover the recently much-discussed topic of what is Fact and what is Fiction.

Have you noticed that in recent weeks certain Facebook posts and YouTube videos are being censored, as they don’t follow the ‘preferred narrative’?

I can remember some contentious musical records that were released many years ago and were considered too risqué for the public and so were banned by the BBC. Effectively this was the best thing that could have happened for the artists in terms of publicity, as everyone wanted to hear what had been banned – whether good or bad, it didn’t matter! And, of course those music records soared to the number 1 slot!!

Have you, for example, ever tried to do a search on the potential side effects of vaccines? If you have, you will notice that you will be routed only towards the preferred narrative.

It appears that we, as a population, are not trusted to find anything that does not follow the prescribed thinking.

There is significant research that shows that there are real side effects for some people for vaccines. Indeed the NIH (The Health agency in the USA) has confirmed that vaccines are “unavoidably unsafe”. And so the question is: “Why would somebody not want you to know this?”

It is worth looking at the information insert for the Flu vaccine, which clearly states that it has not been proven safe in Pregnancy; however despite this, pregnant women are regularly given the vaccine.

And so again the question is: “Does anyone invite you to look at the insert before offering the jab? And if not, why not?”

So who is it that is deciding what we should know and not know?

I always understood education was based on looking at information and seeing if it made sense to us. We were raised to believe it was only the communist countries that censored information.

If this is the case, however, then what is happening currently?

It would appear that we are being fed trite phrases by the media, and if we are not careful it is possible that we may believe them…

And if something is repeated over and over, it becomes an accepted value, whether it is true or not.

So at this time, we need to be careful not to fall for the preferred narrative i.e. “This is the story we want you to believe and we don’t want you to think there could be other possibilities…”

And perhaps the learning here, is to be open to all the information sources, and to try not to get too much into the hype or fear around them.

From a personal perspective – I suspect that there is manipulation going on, and so it is very difficult to know who and what to trust…

As I covered last week – the UK National Health Service gives us the following advice: “Stay at home, Save lives.”

However, the news that has recently come out of New York is that 66% of those coming into the hospitals with the virus symptoms have been doing just that, NOT going out of their homes at all for the past 3-4 weeks!!

So the key question is: “What can we do?”

My learning from all of this, is that if something is being banned / censored this should alert us to the fact that there could well be some truth in it – and so it may be a signpost for us to dig more deeply and to check it out for ourselves…

Should you decide to do so, however, you may need to be creative as you won’t easily find the banned / censored information on the main Internet search engines.

Until next week …

The Value of Health & Wellbeing

This week I would like to cover the topic of Health & Wellbeing and how we can align with this frequency.

One of the things that the shutdown has brought to our attention is the value of our Health.

The UK National Health Service gives us somewhat trite advice: “Stay at home, Wash your Hands”.

For most of us this is of minimal value, as although perhaps reminding us to wash our hands regularly is of some value, we want to go deeper and create an internal terrain of Vibrant Health & Wellbeing.

In my experience the factors that influence our Health are:

  1. Physical stress
  2. Mental/Emotional stress
  3. Chemical/Toxic stress

So I consider it important that we take all 3 into account in our assessment of where to focus to improve our overall Health & Wellbeing.

  1. Physical Stress – included in this category are poor posture & staying in the same positions for long periods e.g. driving long distances without a break, long hours at the computer or craning your neck as you interact with your mobile device for extended periods. All of these and other similar activities can create undue stress on our Musculo-skeletal structure.

  1. Mental/Emotional stress – avoiding stress where possible is of particular importance at this time, as stress can increase the level of Cortisol in the system and thereby reduce the immune response.

  1. Chemical/Toxic stress – this can be created by poor diet, repeated exposure to strong cleaning products and anything we put into the body that is chemical based, as opposed to naturally created.

My suggestions on how to reduce these 3 Stress factors are:

  1. Make sure that you take breaks when working from home (or when you are on your mobile devices) & take some form of daily exercise – if you like yoga or Pilates then do that.
  1. Probably the biggest issue at the moment is the mental/emotional stress element and here there is an opportunity to try something that maybe you had not considered before.

There is considerable research that shows Meditation is of great value in reducing mental/emotional stress. I have a range of free Meditations on my website that can help you get started here.

Many people also find Breathwork very valuable in reducing stress, and there are a number of Breathwork practitioners that can help & will guide you online. In addition there are numerous websites that can guide you in the process.
  1. A good diet is essential here – including eating as much organic produce as is practical and avoiding GMO & heavily processed foods. There is mounting evidence that Vitamin D (either taken in supplement form or through exposure to sunlight) and Vitamin C (either in your food or as a supplement) are helpful in improving immunity.

One major factor that helps in all of these areas is our quality & quantity of sleep, and so improving sleep hygiene is a good start to helping here:

  1. Ensure that the bedroom is as dark as possible, as even small lights affect sleep quality.
  2. Avoid TV, radio or too much mental stimulation or ‘blue light’ before bedtime.
  3. Set a sensible night-time routine and stick to it. (“Lights out” time etc.)
  4. Leave your mobile out of the bedroom.

And whilst these things may be obvious it’s always good to be reminded.

Creating Abundance in our Lives

This week I would like to cover the topic of Abundance and how we can align with this frequency.

I am sure we have all noticed that people who are abundant seem to exude the frequency of Abundance.

This is the principle of the vision board, whereby you put pictures of what you would like in your life on the board, and by focusing on these, this helps attract these things into our lives.

By doing this vision board we are tuning in to the frequency of Abundance.

However, this doesn’t always seem to work because we run other frequencies to do with self-value or self-worth that may sabotage the vision board effects. Have you noticed this in your life?

So how can we move beyond these self-defeating patterns and resonate more fully with the frequencies of Abundance?

The first thing to look at is: what are our thoughts and habits about money and abundance.

Are you e.g. denying your Abundance with phrases, like “I just can’t afford that! Why have I never got any money?”

Abundance is a feeling of being supported by the universe, with your needs being met in an effortless way.

I offer a great way to start or restart the flow of Abundance below.

Many years ago I read a book called “The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity” by Catherine Ponder. I am not sure if it is still in print, but it is definitely worth a read if you can find it.

Catherine suggests that there are basically 3 Laws of Prosperity, and I summarise them below.

  1. The Law of Giving.

The idea is that giving starts a flow of energy and ultimately this flow has to come back to you. So, for example, when working with clients I suggest that they can activate this Law by giving from what they already have – anything in the wardrobe or house that they have not been using, to take it to the charity shops etc. Also, I may suggest that whenever they shop with cash and get some change that they put a little of it in the charity collection can, often near the tills. Just doing these little things will start the flow into your life.

  1. The Law of Receiving.

This is often a Law that we overlook. The idea is that when we are offered something, we readily accept. A simple example is when you go out with friends for a coffee and they offer to pay. How many times do you say “No, that’s alright I will pay”? I suggest here that we could practice starting to say thanks without hesitation!

  1. The Law of Expecting the Flow.

Catherine talks about the principle of tithing in her book (giving a percentage of your income, e.g. 10%, to some church or charity on a regular basis), and she recommends this on the basis that if you are giving regularly, it is reasonable to expect the flow to come back to you. My view is a slight variation on this, in that I recommend to my clients that they start by giving something that won’t in any way stress their finances, no matter how small it is.

Providing you have fulfilled the other 2 Laws it is reasonable to expect the flow.

When in the past clients have tried these principles there is often a turnaround in their fortunes. There is one final little thing I suggest to my clients to help with Abundance, and that is carrying cash in their purse/wallet. I suggest you do this and carry smaller notes (e.g. £5 notes rather than £10’s or £20’s). The reason for this is that a bundle of £5 notes always feels more than a few larger notes and creates a feeling of Abundance. It may seem trivial but try it and see what happens.

Have fun trying these ideas and if you would like to accelerate the process listen to my Abundance Frequency Realignment Meditation, which is freely available on the Products page of my website.

Who will we be when we are “Let out to play again?”

Hi again Everyone,

This week I would like to share a little of my personal story, and review how it relates to the current stay-at-home policy that we are subject to during this crisis.

Like many of us, I’ve been experiencing various levels of frustration and resistance during this forced isolation, however it has led me to recall an earlier time in my life which I would like to share with you.

When I was in my early 20s, I was lucky enough to meet Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (the man who had a significant influence on the lifestyle and music of the Beatles in the late ‘60s).

He was so full of energy and optimism, and exuded a constant state of bliss; he offered a royal road to “Enlightenment” through his form of meditation (Transcendental Meditation®).

As a young University student I had a thirst for knowledge and was excited by Maharishi’s ideas, and remember learning this form of Meditation and being surprised at how easy and deeply relaxing it was.

I found my anxiety levels dramatically dropped, and became more naturally at ease with life.

I began to realise how much background noise there had been in my head.

In the summer of 1976 I was offered the opportunity to spend 6 months on a Maharishi Meditation Retreat. I saw this as a unique opportunity to go deep, clear my system of stressful patterns and go for this “Enlightenment” thing.

So for 6 months we meditated every day for hours, did a little yoga, ate a very basic vegetarian diet and had one walk a day, walking with only one other person.

On Sundays the walk had to be alone and all conversation was discouraged. There was no TV, no radio, no papers or magazines, no sports, no socialising. Telephone calls or visits outside the Retreat were not allowed; and of course no one had mobile phones or Internet at this time (the wheel and electricity had only just been invented!!).

And I remember using all my savings and borrowing money to pay for this Retreat!

My motivation in attending the Retreat was to become a happier, more open and more aware person.

So to go back to the current crisis – for me, although I have on occasion been internally resisting the forced isolation, it has reminded me of those 6 months.

And the interesting thing is – that when we were “let out” after the 6-month Retreat everything seemed so fast, so noisy and overwhelming for a while, but still the internal silence and peace we had generated during that time NEVER went away.

So, I am seeing the parallels with the current situation – the roads are quiet; no one comes near to you when you do go out, and the skies are clear. We don’t listen to any media in our house, no radio, no papers, no TV, no visiting family or friends.

So you may be asking: “How does this relate to me?”

And I guess the key question is: “Is it possible that the enforced rest and isolation could become a catalyst to take us deep within ourselves and into a more relaxed and more aware way of life?”

And this could be followed by: “When we are “let out” are we going to be the same as before?” So rather than asking the question “When will I be let out?” – we could ask: “Who could I become when I am let out?”

These are deep questions, and to help us in this quest, I have created a number of free Meditations, (available on my Products page) which you may find useful.

They are designed to help you dive deeper into yourself and are easy to follow.

Please feel free to enjoy them as often as you would like.

Next week I will share my close-up experience with fear of death and how it helped me change my view of life.

All love,

5 Tips to Stay Sane during the CoronaVirus

Hi Everyone,

This is my personal take on the present situation that we are all faced with.

It is not medical advice but rather my suggestions & view on the CoronaVirus, that I would like to share.

One of the things that really reduces immunity is stress, and at the moment this is coming at us from all sides, mainly in the form of fear.

Unfortunately the Media exacerbates our fears. They love a story and this situation is perfect for them to hype things up and withhold information that would make things more balanced.

For example, there is little focus on the number of people recovering from the virus, no discussion about the accuracy of testing or the comparison to normal winter mortality rates.

Whilst there is no doubt, that for certain groups this virus can create serious problems, voices of reason and balance may be silenced or side-lined and it appears that anyone who suggests another way of looking at thing is labelled as pedalling false news.

So what can we do to stay sane during this time of challenge and transformation?

  1. We can keep ourselves open to a solution to this problem, without judging, and in doing so we will energetically create a greater possibility for our leaders to stay open to alternative ways forward to solve the current crisis.
  1. We can avoid listening to the Media as much as possible, thereby helping us stay centred as best we can, without being dragged into the drama. This will help reduce our fear levels and keep us vibrant.
  1. We can use this time to go deeper into silence, to consider how we can live life differently when the crisis has passed, and focus on how we can restructure our lives to bring them into alignment with our true purpose here on earth.
  1. We can remember the words of the late Dr. David Hawkins. He suggests that our moment of birth and our moment of death are already set, and so nothing we do can change them – however we can change how we live during this time even though the end date is fixed!

When one is able to imbue this concept then the fear of death goes completely. So my suggestion is to                        consider this idea in your moments of silence and see how it fits for you.

  1. Of course even the most ‘zen’ of us are likely to feel triggered from time to time, with feelings of fear or anxiety coming up. In these moments I suggest that we return to focusing on our breath. Simply put, nice long deep breaths in, preferably through the nose, and a pause before breathing out through the mouth.

Sometimes listening to a guided Meditation can be helpful too, and if you would like to listen to any of my free          Meditations, please visit the Products page of my website.

Next week I will talk about the spiritual meaning of this pandemic and how it has come about.

All love,

Jon
